HARPER, April 12 (LINA) – In a significant move towards enhancing regional academic collaboration, the leadership of William V. S. Tubman University (TU), held its first extraordinary meeting with representatives from the International University of Grand-Bassam (IUGB), the only English-speaking university in Côte d’Ivoire.
The discussions primarily revolved around the launch of collaborative educational programs between the two institutions, focusing on initiatives such as student and faculty exchanges, joint entrepreneurship projects, and shared research programs designed to promote innovation and academic excellence across borders.
According to a press release, the TU delegation was headed by President Dr. Olu Q. Menjay and included Dr. Maria Rebecca Fe-Gueta, Vice President for Academic Affairs, and Dr. Malik Kone, Associate Vice President for Research, Innovation, and Discovery. Their presence highlighted the university’s commitment to creating meaningful partnerships that broaden global learning opportunities for both students and faculty.
“Although located in different countries, the two universities are approximately 708 miles apart by road – a distance that symbolizes the geographic breadth of their shared ambition for regional cooperation,” the release stated.
Leaders from both institutions reaffirmed their dedication to establishing the necessary frameworks and beginning implementation as soon as possible.
This emerging partnership is in line with Tubman University’s broader vision under Dr. Menjay’s leadership, which emphasizes international engagement, student success, faculty development, and innovation.
