“We don’t intend to wrong anybody, but the rule of law must prevail. I don’t care how much you cry but those reports that are coming up should be looked at seriously,” the Liberian leader mandated.
President Boakai maintained that the Justice Minister should investigate these cases which occurred during the previous regime.
The Liberian leader also wants the Ministry of Justice to pay keen attention to other upcoming audit reports, adding that it is time for the government to investigate these matters for justice to be served.
Speaking at the opening session of the first Cabinet Meeting in 2025 held at the Executive Mansion on Monday, March 3, 2025, President Boakai further mandated the Minister of Justice to review contracts, Anti- Corruption laws, the creation of railway authority amongst others.
The Liberian President maintained that his call is based on the desire of Liberians, most especially victims of wrong actions to get justice, adding that there is no time for impunity.
Also, President Boakai encouraged his cabinet ministers to prioritize the creation of job opportunities for qualified Liberians who have the requisite expertise to contribute to the growth and development of the country.
President Boakai emphasized that some of the young people have graduated from universities and some of them have Master’ Degrees, therefore, they need job security as a means of putting food on their tables.
According to him, people won’t appreciate all the positive things the government is doing on grounds that they don’t have jobs to improve their livelihoods.
He called on his lieutenants to prioritize jobs for citizens, most especially for the young people, citing that his officials shouldn’t wait for a perfect opportunity before doing so.
The Liberian leader also encouraged his ministers to begin the signing of pending agreements aimed at attracting potential investors to the country.
He stressed that by doing so, many Liberians will get jobs, and their livelihoods will get better.
