By Richard D. Baysah, LINA Margibi County Correspondent

KAKATA, March 25 (LINA) – The Government of Liberia is expected to shortly commence the pavement of all major streets within the City of Kakata, the provincial Capital of Margibi County.

The Resident Public Works Engineer of Margibi County, Hassan Fahnbulleh told the Liberia News Agency during a demarcation exercise on Tuesday March 25, 2025, that the Liberian government has secured funding for the pavement of the streets of Kakata.

The pavement will be carried out in accordance with the ministry’s standard and done with concrete instead of the asphalt.

It can be recalled that in October of 2018, the Administration of former President George M. Weah following its first cabinet retreat held at the Kakata City Hall, broke grounds for the pavement of the streets of Kakata but was never done until the expiration of his term in 2023.

“This concrete pavement work will provide employment opportunities for a whole lot of Liberians, especially youths in the county,” Mr. Fahnbulleh revealed.

Mr. Fahnbulleh further stated that the road works has been awarded to the Praise God Lawal, (PGL) construction company alongside a subcontracting company, East Construction Company that is currently constructing the RIA highway in lower Margibi County.
